The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office Operation Lone Star Task Force is a proactive law enforcement initiative dedicated to combating criminal activity that threatens the safety and security of our communities. Through aggressive enforcement efforts and strategic partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies, task force personnel work to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations involved in human trafficking, narcotics trafficking, and other organized criminal activity.

Task Force deputies conduct proactive traffic enforcement throughout San Jacinto County with a focus on identifying criminal activity, intercepting illegal narcotics, and preventing the movement of individuals involved in human smuggling and human trafficking operations. These enforcement efforts not only enhance roadway safety but also serve as a critical tool in detecting and disrupting criminal enterprises operating within and through our county.

One of the primary missions of the Operation Lone Star Task Force is the identification and protection of victims of human trafficking. Deputies receive specialized training to recognize indicators of trafficking and exploitation, allowing them to identify victims who may otherwise go unnoticed. Working alongside state and federal partners, task force personnel strive to rescue victims, connect them with available resources, and hold traffickers accountable for their crimes. Operation Lone Star was expanded by the State of Texas to specifically address human trafficking and human smuggling activities associated with transnational criminal organizations.

The Task Force also focuses heavily on narcotics interdiction efforts. Through traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, intelligence gathering, and multi-agency operations, deputies work to intercept illegal drugs before they reach local communities. These efforts support the broader Operation Lone Star mission of combating the trafficking of narcotics, including deadly substances such as fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine. Texas law enforcement agencies participating in Operation Lone Star have seized hundreds of millions of lethal doses of fentanyl and made tens of thousands of criminal arrests related to drug trafficking and other criminal offenses.

The Operation Lone Star Task Force serves as a force multiplier for the Sheriff’s Office by combining proactive enforcement, criminal intelligence, victim-centered investigations, and strong interagency cooperation. Through these efforts, the task force remains committed to reducing crime, protecting victims, enhancing public safety, and ensuring that San Jacinto County remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.

The mission of the Operation Lone Star Task Force is to aggressively target criminal activity through proactive enforcement, strategic partnerships, and victim-centered investigations while protecting the citizens of San Jacinto County from those who seek to exploit, traffic, victimize, or endanger others.
