The Jail Division of the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the safe, secure, and professional operation of the San Jacinto County Jail twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Our detention staff is committed to maintaining the safety and security of inmates, staff, visitors, and the community while ensuring that all individuals entrusted to our care are treated with dignity and in accordance with state and federal laws.
The Jail Division oversees the intake, classification, housing, supervision, and release of inmates who are either awaiting trial or serving court-imposed sentences. Detention Officers provide constant supervision and conduct regular security checks to maintain order and ensure the safety and well-being of all inmates housed within the facility.
In addition to housing inmates, the Jail Division is responsible for providing daily meals, access to hygiene and sanitation services, recreational opportunities, inmate visitation, commissary services, and communication with approved family members and legal counsel. Staff work diligently to ensure inmates have access to the services and resources required during their incarceration.
The division also coordinates inmate transportation operations, including transporting inmates to and from court appearances, medical appointments, state correctional facilities, and other county jails when necessary. These transportation duties are conducted by trained personnel who ensure the safe and secure movement of inmates while maintaining public safety.
Medical care is a critical component of jail operations. The facility works closely with licensed medical professionals to provide inmate healthcare services, including medical screenings, routine and emergency medical care, medication administration, mental health services, and ongoing health monitoring. Detention staff and medical personnel work together to address the medical needs of inmates while ensuring compliance with all applicable correctional standards.
The Jail Division also plays a vital role in the criminal justice system by coordinating with local courts, prosecutors, defense attorneys, probation departments, and law enforcement agencies. Through effective inmate management and professional detention practices, the division helps ensure the orderly operation of the county’s judicial process.
The mission of the Jail Division is to provide a safe, secure, and professionally managed detention facility while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and service. Through dedicated personnel, continuous training, and a commitment to excellence, the San Jacinto County Jail remains focused on protecting the community while responsibly caring for those placed in our custody.
