The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) serves as the primary investigative arm of the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office. Our detectives are responsible for conducting thorough and professional investigations into criminal offenses occurring throughout San Jacinto County, ranging from criminal mischief and property crimes to complex violent crimes and homicide investigations.
CID detectives investigate a wide variety of offenses, including burglaries, thefts, robberies, assaults, family violence offenses, fraud and financial crimes, narcotics-related offenses, crimes against persons, and other felony criminal violations. Detectives work closely with patrol deputies, prosecutors, neighboring law enforcement agencies, and state and federal partners to identify offenders, gather evidence, and ensure successful case prosecution.
The division includes specially trained investigators assigned to specialized investigative disciplines. Our Auto Theft Investigator works closely with regional and state task forces to investigate vehicle thefts, recover stolen property, dismantle organized theft operations, and identify repeat offenders. These investigations often extend beyond county lines and require coordination with multiple agencies.
CID also maintains investigators who specialize in crimes against children and internet-facilitated offenses. These detectives receive specialized training focused on identifying, investigating, and prosecuting child predators who target children through online platforms and other means. Working alongside state and federal partners, these investigators are committed to protecting vulnerable victims and bringing offenders to justice.
While all criminal investigations are important, CID prioritizes cases involving immediate threats to life, public safety, and vulnerable victims. Major crimes such as homicides, aggravated assaults, sexual assaults, crimes against children, and other offenses where lives may be in jeopardy receive immediate attention and are aggressively pursued. Detectives are available for call-outs and routinely respond to major crime scenes to ensure critical evidence is preserved and investigative leads are promptly developed.
